Welcome to The French Creek Watershed
One of America's "Last Great Places"

Flowing through the heart of Northwest Pennsylvania, French Creek is nationally recognized as one of the most ecologically important waterways in the entire country.  Hosting an astonishing 27 species of native freshwater mussels, and over 80 species of fish, the Nature Conservancy has called the French Creek Watershed one of America’s “Last Great Places”.

Originating in Chautauqua County, NY, French Creek flows 117 miles through the rolling hills and valleys of Pennsylvania until its confluence with the Allegheny River in Franklin. Rich in historical significance, incredible biodiversity, and recreational opportunities, the French Creek Watershed is truly a community treasure.
